Dee Patel has loved cooking Indian cuisine since she was a teenager living with her grandmother in Gujarat, a state on the western coast of India. Several years ago, Dee moved with her family to Midcoast Maine from New Jersey.
Dee had so many requests for Indian food from her coworkers at Pen Bay Skin Care that she decided to open Namaste in 2019, a three-days-a-week takeout at her family’s hotel, The Ledges, in Rockport. Namaste has not only has been received with rave reviews but she routinely sells out of everything on the menu.
