 MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
GRACE CHEN

Grace Chen grew up in a household where the first question asked to any visitor was "have you eaten yet?" Grace's family immigrated to the United States from Taiwan, but has roots in Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong, China, and these regions influence her cuisine.

Grace began cooking at the age of six - making rice, mincing garlic for stir-fries, scrambling green onions and eggs (high heat only for Chinese style eggs!), and washing/prepping an assortment of Chinese leafy greens that came straight from their garden. Every night, Grace's mom cooked a 3-4 course Chinese meal, and instilled in her daughters the art of cooking flavorful, wholesome food from scratch.

While Grace went on to work in the tech sector, Chinese home-style cooking is a lifelong and daily practice. Grace lives in Camden with her husband and two kids.
