Let's Learn to Marble! (for kids)
A playful, fun and creative introduction into marbling, for kids! Attendees will learn a brief history of this ancient art form and then will get to experiment by marbling a collection of papers and a pumpkin.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
​
Attention all art loving little ones, this will be an afternoon to remember. This course is a playful introduction into the ancient art of paper marbling. Designer and artist, Lea Freni will teach students a little about the history of marbling and color theory before letting the hands-on experimentation begin! Students will leave with a new creative skill, a collection of up to 20 marbled papers, and a marbled mini pumpkin.
This course runs on Monday, October, 14th (Indigenous Peoples' Day) from 1-3pm.

Please note, this class is targeted towards art-loving kids ages 8 and above. We will consider younger students with adult supervision. Please email us if you would like to sign up your child who is under 8.

WORKSHOP SPECIFICS
WHAT'S INCLUDED
All kids tools and materials will be provided. Students will leave with one marbled mini pumpkin and up to 20 marbled papers.

HOURS & LOCATION
The class will run approximately 2 hours, starting promptly at 1pm and ending at 3pm. This workshop is an in-person course hosted in the Art Barn at Howe Hill Farm in Camden, Maine.

WHAT TO BRING
All materials will be provided but please have your child bring an apron (or clothes you don't mind them getting messy), a notebook/pencil to take notes and a water bottle. ​

Skill level
This workshop is designed for art loving kids (ages 8 and over) who want to experiment with the art of paper marbling. No prior art experience is required.

REFUNDs
If you need to cancel, please notify us via email at least 15 days before the start of the workshop. We will refund your tuition, minus a $50 cancellation fee or you may transfer your full tuition amount to another Workshop at Howe Hill Farm within 18 months. Cancellations made within 15 days of the workshop will result in forfeit of the full tuition amount. If you are traveling to attend a workshop we recommend insuring your trip with Travelex insurance so your trip and tuition will be covered in the event of illness or unforeseen circumstances.

*If minimum enrollment is not met within 10 days of the workshop start the course will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued to all registered students.

LEA FRENI
Lea Freni is a co-founder of Create Collective Workshops, a multi-disciplinary art collective hosting creative workshops throughout the Northeast.
Lea Freni is a Midcoast Maine based designer and artist. She has extensive fashion industry experience in apparel design and 3D modeling. She has worked for Calvin Klein and other prestigious fashion houses. She is passionate about art education and exploring surface design techniques with creatives of all ages and skill levels.
