COURSE DESCRIPTION

Join us for a fun afternoon of learning how to needle felt with artist and designer Michelle Provencal of Thirdlee & Co. In this hands-on 3 hour introductory course, you will create a life-like mussel shell ornament in felted wool. The class will cover the basics of needle felting in two stages: sculpting a 3D shape and 2D color application using a needle. Students will add final touches by hand sewing embellishments.
This course is designed to equip you with the basic knowledge, confidence and a materials list to continue needle felting at home!

WORKSHOP SPECIFICS
WHAT'S INCLUDED
All tools and materials will be provided for use during this class. You will leave with your own needle felted wool ornament and a list of felting resources.

In addition, we will have beverages and a light assortment of snacks.

HOURS & LOCATION
The class will run approximately 3 hours, starting promptly at 1pm and ending at 4pm. This workshop is an in-person course hosted in the Art Barn at Howe Hill Farm in Camden, Maine.

This workshop is designed for people of all skill levels who are wanting to experiment with the art of needle felting. No prior art experience is required. Ages 16+*
*Kids 10+ can register for the course if taking it with a registered parent/guardian.

REFUNDs
If you need to cancel, please notify us via email at least 15 days before the start of the workshop. We will refund your tuition, minus a $50 cancellation fee or you may transfer your full tuition amount to another Workshop at Howe Hill Farm within 18 months. Cancellations made within 15 days of the workshop will result in forfeit of the full tuition amount. If you are traveling to attend a workshop we recommend insuring your trip with Travelex insurance so your trip and tuition will be covered in the event of illness or unforeseen circumstances.

​ MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
MICHELLE LEE PROVENCAL
Michelle is a graduate of Pratt Institute with a degree in Industrial Design. For over 20 years, she has worked as a product designer for well-known home brands and has had the privilege of partnering with artisans around the globe.
In 2016 she returned to New England where she draws upon a deep connection to the Maine coast that has always influenced her personal design aesthetic. Michelle launched Thirdlee & Co. in 2017 as a home for her newly developed needle-felted designs. Thirdlee & Co. continues to grow and now encompasses a range of original decorative designs developed in partnership with other New England based creatives and skilled craftspeople.
